Benefit Review

Hi there!

Finally here's one of the product reviews I was telling you about ;)

So, as I'm subscribed to the Elle magazine for a year I get lots and lots of goodies. I receive an Elle Card which gets me discounts, lots of good quality freebies with each monthly magazines and best of all, I got my Benefit Bronze of the Champions. This is by far one of the best things I have received, although Benefit has been associated with Elle for quite a while- I've previously received travel sized portions of products like Porefessional and what not. However, those go after a week or two of me savoring every pea-sized amount I ration myself. Bronze of the Champions has lasted me since I first got it about 3-4 months ago, considering all products within the package are travel sized, I'd say that's pretty damn good. I haven't even touched pan yet!

The six products included are Watt's up! highlighter, Hoola bronzer, Ultra Plush lip gloss, Creaseless Cream Shadow in bikini-tini, Longwear Powder Shadow in thanks a latte and finally the They're Real mascara.

(From left to right: Cream Shadow, Watt's up! Highlighter, Ultra Plush lip gloss and They're Real mascara- excuse the packaging, or lack of packaging)

Watt's Up! Highlighter
The Watt's Up! highlighter is a product that I immediately grab for everyday, as it's tones are golden it blends in easy with your skin tone. The creamy texture will blend in effortlessly, no matter if you use your fingers or a sponge/ brush. The subtle shimmer in the product shows through when in the light, grabbing the attention to wherever you apply it. Although this can be used on your brow bone, it looks a lot better when contouring with your cheekbones or nose. Used with the Hoola bronzer included in the set for added effect.

Hoola Bronzer
This matte bronzer looks very daunting when in the pot, as it looks to dark for my pale skin. However, fear not! When applied it's very subtle and can easily be built up depending on the season. As this is travel sized it looks like it will be used up quickly, but actually a little bit goes along way. Perfect for contouring or creating a natural sun kissed look.

Ultra Plush Lip Gloss
Honestly I'm struggling with where to start. Not only is this lip gloss a perfect nude, it's moisturizing and has a subtle shimmer. As this is associated with the Hoola Bronzer it looks like it will come out dark and over powering, but it slides on with a non-sticky texture and the tiniest bit of colour. Perfect for if you want a nude gloss for school! The only problem is the scent, whilst on it's scentless, but when applying the tropical scent is a little bit too much. Not a big problem, but the only con I can think of.

Creaseless Cream Shadow
Benefit provided this cream shadow in the shade Bikini-Tini and I love it. The colour is nice and buildable so you can go from a sheer every day look to a more heavy dramatic look. This shadow definitely lives up to it's name as it does not crease and stays on for most of the day- I don't use an eye primer but I imagine using one would make it last all day. It's hard to blend out if you leave it for a while, so make sure to blend straight away if you need to.

Longwear Powder Shadow
The colour I got to try out was Thanks-A-Latte and it went perfectly with the cream shadow Bikini-Tini. The shadow was a lovely brown with a golden shimmer and much like the cream shadow was very buildable, it's very pigmented and stays for most of the day. Not much to say on this one, as it's just like the creaseless cream but in a powder form!

They're Real Mascara
If you ever have the chance, I recommend heading to your nearest benefit stand and picking up this mascara. This mascara honestly never ceases to amaze me, it makes all your lashes long and luxurious but minus the clumping which usually comes along with mascaras like this. Looking at various reviews, it seems that people prefer the sample size (the one I received) to the full size. Hopefully I will get to buy the full size and tell you if this is in fact true. So I would suggest sticking to the sample size, or if you have the full size make sure to tell me what your opinions of it were.
